Ian is an executive and serial entrepreneur, building businesses providing financial services to underserved groups in the Middle East and Africa. Ian is currently CEO of Sumara Technology, which undertakes digital transformation projects for large financial services firms. Sumara Technology has a Bitcoin treasury, and uses this as a competitive advantage.

Former Chief Product Officer at Moniepoint, the second fastest growing company in Africa, Global Head of Product at CMC Markets, and co-founder of NOW Money, a multiple award winning UAE-based company that broke new ground by providing accounts and access to financial services for the 26 million migrant workers in the Middle East.

Ian was UAE Fintech Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 (ADGM).

Ian is an avid Bitcoiner, who is working on solutions that can bring the benefits of Bitcoin to populations in Africa and the Middle East, who have unique characteristics and needs from financial services which are often poorly understood by the West.
